The Maldives is exclusively a Muslim country and the import by visitors of alcohol, narcotic drugs, dogs, pigs/pork products and pornography are forbidden. Don’t worry if you happen to have some duty-free alcohol with you; customs will store it safely in bond for collection when you leave. Anyway, Kani’s bars are so well stocked, you wouldn’t need to bring your own. 

Narcotic drugs are strictly forbidden, and penalty for importing even for personal use is a heavy fine and life imprisonment.
